The Conference (as a part of VEGA Project 2/0118/13) is planned in cooperation with Slovak Musicology Association, Austrian Cultural Forum and Czech Cultural Center in Bratislava. Interdisciplinary conference aims to confront and compare new knowledge about contexts of Baroque in Slovakia and Central Europe in the field of literature and music, i.e. in the two closest artistic disciplines. Papers will principally focus on problems of methodology and concepts of literary and musical Baroque, periodization, relation between word and music in specific genres (spiritual and paraliturgical song, school drama) etc. In the conference will take part literary scholars, philologists and music historians from several countries (except Slovakia also from Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Germany and France).
